Once upon a time in a land far away, Princess Akane dreamt of getting married so that she may become queen and fulfill her duty to her people. King Makishima though didn’t approve any suitors who asked for her hand. It wasn’t until the black knight, Kogami, challenged King Makishima saying the King was unfair for keeping such a charming princess all to himself.

Princess Akane would have none of their bullshit and decided to run away with her ladies-in-waiting—Yayoi, Shion, and Ginoza—to become co-queens and rule the land together. And they all lived happily ever after.

“I didn’t exactly dream of getting married. What I only wished for was to change this unfair kingdom my father Makishima had built. To set up laws so people wouldn’t be afraid of going to sleep at night because they might get their throat sliced. I was aware of my people’s difficulties and I tried, over and over again to talk to my father but he wouldn’t listen. Nobody ever listened to me! Not even king Kougami who only waged war against my father, not for my sake but only to face him! I was sick of all of it, that’s why I ran away with my faithful companions, only to come back, stronger than I was before, to dispose of my father and change this kingdom into a place where everyone could live in peace. I married my childhood friend prince Touma and we lived happily ever after!”

I’m crying at this drabble. Here’s the family tree I thought of for my AU crack!fic (I was going to doodle this out, but I’ll be leaving for a family vacation soon):

King Makishima - A King who inherited the kingdom from his predecessors King Senguji and Queen Kasei
Queen Choe: Aunt of Akane who adopted Akane after her parents passed away.
Princess Akane: The crown princess who only wants peace for her kingdom. Makishima has recently raised taxes and demands madeleines and earl grey tea as offerings for his current reign. Anyone unable to pay the price has their throats sliced.
Yayoi, Shion & Ginoza: Princess Akane’s ladies-in-waiting

Some random neighbouring kingdom
King Masaoka: has sent Kogami to the Kingdom of Sybil to check up on his child, Ginoza
Prince Kogami: A prince who wanted to be a knight. Originally wanted to overthrow King Makishima, but was charmed by Princess Akane along the way.
